The plot is simple enough: Jack must navigate various obstacles throughout the day, including an ex-girlfriend (Olivia Munn), a misplaced seating chart, and a sedative mishap that threatens to ruin everything. However, what sets this movie apart from other romantic comedies is its clever use of repetition- each time Jack tries to fix a problem, the story plays out in different ways depending on which character receives the sedative.
